Applied and Practice-based Research
We pride ourselves on research that has broad application and engages actively with business, industry and the wider public. Here psychology research – including stress, role-play, driving, dieting, luck and health - is applied to a broad range of commercial and everyday activities that impact on the community, the business world and the individual. There are specialisms here too, that are unique to the University of Hertfordshire: the UK’s only Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology, the globally acclaimed FIT Science and the only Centre for Personal Construct Psychology. This, and other research here, is supported by expertise in applied statistics and statistical modelling.
