Established in London in 1981 by the late Professor Fay Fransella, the Centre for Personal Construct Psychology has become internationally known for its educational, research and consultancy services.
In 2005 the Centre became part of the School of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. The core personnel of the Centre are: Nick Reed (the Director of the Centre) and Professor David Winter (Consultant). Professor Winter is also Programme Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course run by the University's School of Psychology and that course has a substantial PCP component.
The Centre offers distance learning courses on Personal Construct Psychology and its methods of assessment. The Centre also hosts PCP workshops and other events, which are led by experts on Personal Construct Psychology from the UK and around the world. The Centre also offers in-house PCP training workshops for organisations.
The Centre holds the Fransella Collection of PCP books, articles, theses and papers. This collection is one of the best of its type in the world and provides a valuable resource for those using PCP in their studies and research.
The Centre can provide assistance to individuals and teams of researchers who wish to use Personal Construct Psychology methods (such as Repertory Grid Technique) in their research.
The Centre offers PCP based organisational development consultancy for such things as change management, conflict resolution, risk management, staff surveys, knowledge management and the identification/development of core values.
