Call for Papers
SPEAKERS
The following invited
speakers will be giving papers at the Symposium:
Peter Naur, DIKU
Datalogisk Institut, Københavns Universitet, Denmark
Jay L. Lemke, School of Education, University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, USA
Bert Hodges, Department of Psychology, Gordon College, Wenham,

Jordan Zlatev, General Linguistics, Centre for Languages and Literature,
Lund University, Sweden
We are currently
in the process of confirming several other international speakers.
SUBMISSIONS AND
PARTICIPATION
The organizers are
pleased to invite papers on the Symposium issues:
1. Can a distributed
perspective on language clarify the nature of silent rehearsal?
2. In what ways does human phenomenology depend on linguistic
experience?
3. How does the phenomenal-linguistic aspect of experience emerge
in both evolution and development?
The DLG program committee
is soliciting original papers, describing state-of-the-art research
in all areas related to the Symposium theme. Submitted papers
should be previously unpublished and not currently under review
by another conference or journal. Papers will be published on
the Symposium web site for the event and must be available for
public dissemination.
Papers are encouraged
on the above-mentioned theme from a range of disciplinary and
inter-disciplinary perspectives, including clinical perspectives,
cognitive science, informatics, linguistics, neuroanatomy, philosophy,
and psychology. We therefore encourage participants from a wide
variety of disciplines in the human, social and natural sciences
to attend. Ph.D. candidates are especially encouraged to present
papers.
We expect to publish
selected contributions in a major international journal (edited
by Paul J. Thibault). Most of the presentations will be of 30
minutes and ample question time will be allowed. If you would
like to make a longer presentation, please let us know. There
are a couple of slots remaining for one hour papers.
REVIEW PROCESS
All submissions will
be reviewed anonymously by two reviewers who will be concerned
with coherence and relevance to the intellectual agenda of the
symposium. Please send submissions by email to the organizers
(see below for contact details) specifying "DLG submission"
in the subject line and providing the following information:
• For each author: name, title, affiliation in the body
of the mail;
• Title of paper;
• Abstract (approximately 400 words);
• Presentation equipment requirements.
As part of their evaluation, the reviewers will score submissions
according to their contribution, originality/novelty, technical
depth/merit, and quality of presentation.
The reviews will
be relayed to the correspondence author, as part of the notification
on the final decision. The review process will not include a rebuttal
phase.
